Well here we are almost midway through October. So much going on like, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Of which I am donating 5% back to research. Sweetest day, bosses day, Halloween, oh and I can't forget Clergy Appreciation Moth too!

National Lighthouse Day

On August 7th, 1789, the US Congress approved an Act for the establishment and support of lighthouses, beacons, buoys and public piers. On the 200th anniversary Congress passed a resolution making August 7th National Lighthouse Day - the purpose of which is to recognize the importance of lighthouses in the history of the U.S. and to encourage the restoration and upkeep of all lighthouses.

Good Morning!! Today is NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY, why so excited you ask? Well I married into a family of light house keepers. Walter Wescott was the light house keeper for Assateague Light in VA., and for Drum Point Light in Md. My Grandmother- in-law was born at Assateague Light while her father was keeper. My mother-in-law grew up for most of her elementary school year around WWII on Drum Point Light with her mother and grandfather and two siblings. I have always had a passion for light houses and this just made it, even more real for me!

Miss Lillian Mears Rew wrote a book titled: Assateague & Chincoteague as I Remember Them. In this book and through the US Coast Guard History of lighthouse Keepers is where you’ll find mention of the Keeper Walter Wescott.

When they moved to Drum Point in Md., it was shortly after the lighthouse got electricity. About mid to late 1930 through mid 1940 (not sure on the date here). Just after the big storm in 1933 at the end of Keeper JJ Daley’s time there. My mother-in-law lived there with her grandfather, mother and two siblings.
They would have to crank the boat down and row to school everyday. Some fascinating stories I have heard!

Now Drum Point Light is on land and part of the National Lighthouse Meuseum.

August is “Home Business Month” what an amazing month it is too, my birthday and my husband’s birthday are in August. My oldest daughter got married in August, on the 25 of this month she will be married 6 years. I got engaged this month too almost 34 years ago!!

Then just a few months ago I started the most incredible and amazing journey into my own home based business. In conjunction with La Bella Baskets I am know my own boss!

I love this business never thought a home business could be so great. My Mimis Basktastic Gifts is taking off this month like wild fire. I can’t thank my Lord enough for putting this on my heart and I actually listened to him, I give this all to God, he has set it all in motion and put all the right people in my path to make this happen!

I am so excited about my baskets, candles, flowers and cookie bouquets I just don’t what to say. I mind is so full of ideas, they want to all come out at once. I have jotted them down or I would forget half of ideas. Writing them down even in the middle of the night has helped me to decide what to write about the next day, also this keeps all my ideas around so I can use each as I see fit and not forget any of them.

So August is a great month for me with so many happy memories and new memories being made everyday this month.

Good morning to all my family and friends and especially to all my networking fans, or so should I say friends how have checked out my blog or my web site or even my web store!!

Most of all I want to thank God and my husband for all they have done in my life. This new gift basket business especially, if not for my hubby and his support I might not have even tried. Well then God put this in my lap , with all the prayers and talking to my Lord  about finding a job where I can  doing something I can be passionate about. I asked a lot for God on this matter, help me find a job that will help me enjoy my grand babies even more and to help my husband pay our bill!

Happy National Cheese Cake Day!!!

Well never though I see that “Cheese cake day” that is. Cheese cake, the best thing on earth for me. Some of you know my home made cheese cake! Some of you have had me make them for special occasions, & 7lbs of decadentness, 4 inches high New York cheese cake so light and creamy. Ok now I want to make one and eat the whole thing. By the way it is NOT dietetic by any means, with 3lbs of cream cheese and 6 egg and lots of cream.

My one son-in-law always asks for cheese cake for his birthday and most of the time he’ll get it too!!

Now I was thinking very early this morning, (yes me thinking ha ha) and realized that one of the best things to go with cheese cake is wine!

Today July 24th is Cousins Day

So in honor of cousins I would like to introduce my two grandkids who are cousins. Just 5.5 months apart.  Some days I think they think they are siblings. Both my daughters ended up pregnant at the sometime, (boy, didn’t they plan that one) . Not sure if the husbands were in on that plan!

One Girl and one boy, now 3yr 10 mo, and our boy is 3yr, 5mo.  My grandbabies are my pride and joy if I haven’t told you already!! They are the reason I am so excited about my La Bella Basket and Flower business. The money I earn from this business will go toward them, spoiling them with trips, presents and just being able to spend a lot of time with them.

They make me smile and laugh so much!  I watch them as they grow and see mile stones they accomplish more than when my own kids were growing up. I understand more and have the time to just sit back and watch them as they learn and grow.

Cousins: defined as one related by descent in a diverging line of common ancestor, as from grandparents or from one’s father or mother’s sister or brother. Another name for cousin is kinsman or kinswomen.

Well now that I got that out of the way, cousins can be scattered throughout the country, world, or can  as close as next door. My grandkids are separated by only 10 miles and see each other 3 to 5 days a week. They play like siblings and can fight like them too! You see I care for my babies so their moms and dads can work unrestricted to advance in their fields of expertise. 

This will soon come to an end. My husband and I need to move back to our home in Myrtle Beach and the grands will be going to preschool this year. Moving back to my home I know how hard it will be for them to adjust, yet I know they will. This business gives me the freedom to be with them as much as possible and to have great family time with the whole family!!

Since my two grand kids (cousins) and toddlers, I am pitching my children baskets for all to see!! I know my babes will love each of these in his or her own way!!

A Themed Sports Basket what better way to celebrate Hot Dog Day! Every thing in the basket goes with dogs (hot dogs)!
I had a hot dog today hey, places like Sonic were having hot dogs for a buck!!, in the north, 7-eleven were giving them out for free!!!
